NEW: Gondoliers arrangement available for shows from September.

Gilbert & Sullivan orchestrations

Orchestrations for many of Gilbert & Sullivan (G&S) operettas are available from Pattersong Music. These arrangements are ideal for use in smaller venues, where either a full orchestra would not fit in the space available, or where the full orchestral sound would be too big for the singers.

I supply orchestrations for: The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. Pinafore, Gondoliers, Iolanthe, Ruddigore and Patience. Each arrangement is scored for nine players (eight for Patience).

The parts are professionally printed in a large, easy to read format and have been produced to the highest standard using the excellent Sibelius music notation program. Each set comes with a full conductor’s score.

These arrangements have been used successfully by over 90 different performing groups in the UK, USA and elsewhere.

Benefits

The Pattersong Music arrangments use eight or nine players.

Use fewer players without compromising the sound
If you need to use a smaller orchestra, then it’s better to use an arrangement written for that number of players than to miss instruments from a larger arrangement.
Reduced orchestra costs
If you pay your orchestral players, then these arrangements will significantly reduce the cost of the orchestra.
Suitable for smaller venues
Many theatres have limited pit space for musicians; with only nine players required, these arrangements are ideal for smaller theatres. I have used them successfully in the 350 seat Nuffield Theatre, Southampton and at The Point in Eastleigh, a 260 seat venue.

Each set comes with a full conductor’s score.
